Συνοπτική ενημέρωση απο το WSIS(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WSIS ) 16-18/11/2005 στην Τυνήσια(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunisia )
Στη σύνοδο ήταν παράλληλα σε εξέλιξη τέσσερις διαδικασίες η ολομέλεια, στρογγυλά τραπέζια, «Panels» και «parallel events». Ανά δίωρο ήταν παράλληλα σε εξέλιξη 5-9 δραστηριότητες, στην ολομέλεια και στα στρογγυλά τραπέζια συμμετείχαν εκπρόσωποι κυβερνήσεων. Παρακολούθησα κυρίως «Panels» και «parallel events». Λειτουργούσαν και δύο εκθεσιακοί χώροι, ο ένας με πολύ μεγάλες εταιρείες και ο δεύτερος με διεθνείς οργανισμούς, περίπτερα ορισμένων χωρών και ΜΚΟ.
Την πρώτη μέρα ( 16/11/2005 ) παρακολούθησα τέσσερις συναντήσεις με παρουσιάσεις σχετικά με «capacity building» που διερευνούσαν το θέμα με βάση την υπόθεση ότι η πρόσβαση στο Ιντερνέτ και το περιεχόμενο δεν επαρκούν αυτό που απουσιάζει ειναι ότι χρήστες δεν εκπαιδεύονται και δεν έχουν επαρκή τεχνική υποστήριξη για να αξιοποιήσουν παραγωγικά το διαδικτύο και το διαθέσιμο περιεχόμενο(Connectivity and content are not enough, access to information is not enough, what is missing is the person, Cognitive divide). Τα «sessions” διοργανώθηκαν απο το GPK FORUM (http://www.globalknowledge.org/ ). Το θεωρητικό πλαίσιο ήταν τα Commons-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commons ( Knowledge Commons, Moral Commons and Physical commons ).
Παρουσιάστηκαν αποτελέσματα απο έργα όπως το Telecentre network- http://www.telecentre.org/, το somos telecenter network- www.tele-centros.org, το schoolnet απο το Ιράν – http://www1.schoolnet.ir/en/ και Critical and Creative Thinking Skills for Lifelong Employment and Learning απο http://eec.edc.org/ .

Την δεύτερη μέρα ( 17/11/2005 ), παρακολούθησα sessions σχετικά Broadband wireless(http://www.w2i.org/ ) & Open Access Archive (http://www.openarchives.org/ & http://www.dspace.org/ & http://www.p2pscience.org/index.html ). Ενδιαφέρον ειχε και η παρουσίαση «What is the Community Digital Storytelling Movement?»-http://www.cultureisaweapon.org/mainframe.php
Την τρίτη μέρα (18/11/2005 ) παρακολούθησα τα εξής sessions:

Indicative Questions?
-How can we strike a proper balance between the public good aspects of ICT infrastructure and the fundamental importance of private sector investment and entrepreneurship?
-How do technological changes (transition to internet) enable, and perhaps even necessitate, new models for financing information infrastructure and new market structures that separate infrastructure and services?
-Are our traditional economic and legal models for understanding – and making policy and regulation relative to – communications infrastructure and spectrum still relevant? If not, how should they be adapted to changing technical realities and market structures?
